Garden State is a Fox Home Entertainment release and is rated R.

The running time is 1 hr. 42 mins..

There is only one problem with achieving the success Zach Braff has with his first feature film... the next one will be expected to be just as good. Fortunately we don't have to worry about that right now as Garden State is debuting on DVD, satisfying what seems like a really long wait.

While the DVD cover art looks like crap be rest assured, you judging-a-book-by-its-cover types, this is one of the best films of the year.

We begin the story with Andrew Largeman (Braff) on his way home for the first time in 9 years for his mother's funeral and an attempt to reconcile with his father. While at home he is forced to confront several of the skeletons in his closet all while finding what may become the person that could help turn his life around.

Natalie Portman is adorable in this film as she gives it its life playing the spunky Sam encouraging Largeman to find himself and get his life back on track.

I absolutely loved this film and got nothing but thankful words back from all that I recommended it to and as for the DVD goes I suggest you don't even consider waiting to pick it up.

Along with the film you will be getting two separate audio commentaries, one with Braff and Portman and the other with Braff and other contributors to the film, outtakes and bloopers, 16 deleted scenes and a making-of featurette.

As for these features go the commentaries are decent, if you can handle Braff complimenting Portman's looks for the entire time their commentary track is certainly the best. Plus the 16 deleted scenes offer up approximately 40 minutes of footage with abandoned storylines and a couple of great and emotional scenes that were completely removed from the film.

It is unfortunate this DVD missed the Christmas deadline, but I am sure many will be using their gift cards from the holidays to add this one to their collection, and if not what are you thinking?
