As the series came closer to a close things just started to drag on and on. The whole triangle between Joey, Ross and Rachel, we knew how that would turn out. Also the Monica and Chandler twins came as no surprise. Hell, that was nothing compared to Phoebe's triplets not so long ago. The largest disappointment has to be the fact that the tenth season is only 18 episodes compared to the usual 23. For how much these actors are getting paid I can understand skimping, but I think fans of a show that ran for ten years deserve a little more.
So what is so good about this set? Well, I feel weird saying this, but the sound is great. "Friends" has always been given the Dolby Digital treatment, but this was the first time I actually noticed the background noise in Central Perk in my surround speakers. This isn't saying much but I am a fan of good sound so I felt it was worth the mention. Also, you get the never-before-seen footage in each episode, can't complain about that.
Finally, this set has your best set of features to date, and considering you are getting five less episodes than normal they should be good. Most notably is the extended gag reel that runs for over 40 minutes by giving you the bloopers from season 10 as well as highlight bloopers from seasons one, two, three and four. On top of that there is a 25 minute featurette with the cast and crew looking back at the series. This is something "Friends" fans will adore as they look back at the casting, shooting and so much more.
Overall, I think the "Friends" series got progressively worse as it went on, but this is probably as good as they could have done once all was said and done.
