Friends - The Complete Eighth Season is a Warner Home Video release and is rated .
The show is over and the "Friends" gang is just not ready to give up on its audience as Season 8 hits the shelves. Packed with all the usual antics Season 8 also brings you cameos from the likes of Sean Penn, Alec Baldwin and Brad Pitt not to mention this is when the whole Rachel being pregnant issue comes to life and just "who is the father?"
Beginning just moments after the "I Do" at Monica and Chandler's wedding the eighth season hits full swing with its juiciest issue throughout, who is pregnant, and are they going to keep the baby? Of course once the secret is revealed we begin Joey's infatuation with Rachel and the whole Ross, Rachel and Joey triangle, which comes to the final culmination in the cliffhanging season finale.
As for special features you get the usual goods here with commentaries by the producers on three episodes ("The One Where Rachel Tells Ross," "The One with the Videotape" and "The One Where Rachel has a Baby"), the usual "Friends of Friends" video guestbook, which features interviews with David Arquette, June Gable, Teri Garr, Debra Jo Rupp, Bonnie Somerville and Lauren Tom this time around. Next you have
Joey's Game Show Challenge which builds on the idea that Joey was going to host his own game show and finally, the best of them all, the Gag Reel, a "Friends" DVD wouldn't be complete without this feature.
Season 8 is truly the beginning of the end for this show as storylines begin to get dragged out and the comedy begins to take a back seat to relationship drama. Super "Friends" fans will find this to be an excellent addition to their growing collection but the eight season does not live up to the earlier greatness this series achieved.
