Your Prince is in effect, as Will Smith is presented in the debut season of the smash hit "Fresh Prince of Bel Air," coming to DVD for the first time and it is hard to believe that this is the beginnings of a soon-to-be Oscar nominee.

The "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" is classic Will Smith as he moved from his "Parents Just Don't Understand" phase directly into box-office smash films, but lets talk Bel Air for a second.

This DVD set includes all 25 episodes from the first season along with a look back featurette looking back at the series with stars of the show Tatyana Ali, James Avery and Joseph Marcell. Unfortunately Smith doesn't make an appearance, which makes the featurette a little "ho hum," but you aren't really picking up this title for the features, but more for the laughs.

The first season of "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" was not exactly like most first seasons as guest stars were quite regular plus you never know what up and coming stars you will find as you looks back on the series. Consider this season features the likes of Kathy Griffin and recent Oscar-nominee Don Cheadle as an out-of-control friend of Will's from back in Philly.

Of course the first season also features the bright green garb that made the show so fresh before it found its groove and audience and was eventually turned into one of your more run-of-the-mill sitcoms, but the first season is where it not only started but hit its stride.

If you are any fan of classic comedy "Fresh Prince" is sure to be one to remember as Will Smith's beginnings are likely to be something of a collector's item as his star continues to rise.
