Frasier - The Complete Fifth Season (DVD)

A lack of special features seems to be something that goes hand-in-hand as season releases of television shows goes on and it doesn't stop with season five of "Frasier."

Paramount Home Video once again releases a season of "Frasier" minus any special features, which for me doesn't bode much of an issue, but it would be fun to watch at least a blooper reel, there has to be one. Instead we only get the 24 episodes of season five and a further glimpse into the world of one of the most accident prone upper class psychiatrists you will ever meet along with his sibling rivalry with his brother Niles (David Hyde Pierce).

I have a love/hate relationship with this television show considering the way it portrays its two lead characters, Frasier and Niles, as two highly educated psychiatrists with the social skills of a rock and the jealous and ego driven nature of school girls. After watching the entire season I often find myself wanting more but still can't get over the fact that I often times get upset at just how stupid some of their decisions are.

Nevertheless, I still love the show and even catch it in syndication from time to time when I do not have to sit through hours of DVDs for review. I can honestly say I recommend this show as it certainly has a humor all of its own and while it isn't a TV show for everyone its 11 years on television more than speaks for itself.
