Cursed (Unrated Edition) is a Buena Vista Home Entertainment release and has not yet been rated by the MPAA.

The running time is 1 hr. 39 mins..

Seeing how Seattle press was not invited to screen the PG-13 rated version of Cursed when it was released back in February my expectations for this film were understandably low. But, I am a sucker for horror films, and Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson reinvented the genre with Scream, so who am I not to take a look at their latest outing?

The best way to describe Cursed is to say this is another Scream flick in which instead of having a human as the killer you have a werewolf, and while the chuckles and the guffaws are always liable to pop-up whenever you see a 6-foot-10-inch man walking around in a wolf suit, for the most part Cursed really manages to entertain. While I still haven't seen the PG-13 version I can say there are several scenes in this one that would have certainly been cut down for rating's sake.

The acting troupe leading this mythical feature are Christina Ricci, Joshua Jackson, Judy Greer, Shannon Elizabeth, Jesse Eisenberg, Mya, Portia de Rossi and even Scott Baio... yup it is another teen thriller, and the kid in me found several moments entertaining enough to recommend this DVD to your collection.

Beyond the movie itself, the special features aren't really anything to brag about as they pretty much only center around the creature effects from the mini making-of featurettes to the selected scene commentary with effects supervisor Greg Nicotero and the guy in the wolf suit Derek Mears.

If you are to buy Cursed the unrated version is certainly the way to go as it offers up ripped torsos, decapitations and enough blood to transfuse Star Jones. It is far from being spectacular but as far as popcorn horror goes this is one to own.
