'Doubtfire 2' in the Works?
A Mrs. Doubtfire 2 is readying at Fox 2000.
Yup, one day after it is announced that Robin Williams will be receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2005 Golden Globes it is made known that he is also in talks to reprise his role as Mrs. Doubtfire for Fox 2000.
The original Doubtfire won an Oscar for Best Makeup and raked in two Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) and Best Actor in a Comedy for Robin Williams. On top of the hardware it saw some good green pulling in $219 million domestically.
Not only is Williams in talks to star and produce, Bonnie Hunt is in talks to pen the script which will pick up the story of an estranged father who poses as a Scottish nanny, Euphegenia Doubtfire, in order to get access to his children and successfully bypass his ex-wife.
