Double 9/11 Films in the Works
Paramount and Columbia set to tackle terrorist attacks.
It seems we have grieved long enough, it is time to tell the tale of 9/11… twice.
Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures are both setting up features surrounding the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
First off Paramount is going to finance and distribute an untitled feature centering on the rescue of two Port Authority police officers from the rubble of the World Trade Center with Oliver Stone directing and Nicolas Cage starring. The script was penned by Andrea Berloff.
Cage will portray one of the two Port Authority police officers, Will Jimeno and John McLoughlin, who were among the many rescuers who risked their lives by rushing into the smoking buildings; the duo were among the very few who survived the fall of the towers, thanks to the frantic rescue efforts of other rescuers who pulled them from the rubble before their oxygen ran out.
Next is the feature being set up over at Columbia Pictures based on the Jim Dwyer-Kevin Flynn book "102 Minutes." Billy Ray, screenwriter and director of Shattered Glass has already turned in a script.
On top of all that the film has four producers Michael De Luca, Rachael Horovitz, Sidney Kimmel and last but not least Michael "Jesus Juice" Jackson.
The story addresses the rescue attempts that took place between the moment the first plane hit the World Trade Center at 8:46 a.m. and the collapse of the first tower at 10:28 a.m.

The Stone-directed project will focus on a much smaller story from the fateful day. The Variety article goes on to say that ABC is also planning a made-for-TV feature, which will see airtime in multiple parts.
