Domestic Trailer for Kathryn Bigelow's 'The Hurt Locker'
Intensity meets trailer
The Hurt Locker has been talked about for quite some time now and it will finally make its way to theaters on June 26 as the first official domestic trailer for the film has just hit Apple.
The film stars Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, Evangeline Lilly, Ralph Fiennes, David Morse and Guy Pearce and was inspired by true events and recently declassified information. The Hurt Locker follows an elite Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team in present-day Baghdad that fights an onslaught of bombs and snipers. Renner plays the leader of the team, while Mackie and Geraghty are members of it. Fiennes is a mercenary; Pearce is another member.

The Hurt Locker, winner of the 2008 Venice Film Festival SIGNIS Grand Prize, is a riveting and suspenseful portrait of the elite members of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) squad, soldiers who volunteer to challenge the odds and save lives in one of the world’s most dangerous jobs. Three EOD members battle insurgents and each other as they seek out and disarm deadly bombs in a thrilling race against time. A heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat look at the effects of combat and danger on the human psyche, The Hurt Locker, meaning a place of ultimate pain, is based on the first-hand observations of journalist and screenwriter Mark Boal, who was embedded with a special bomb unit in Iraq. It is a gripping portrayal of real-life sacrifice and heroism and a layered, probing study of the soul-numbing rigors and potent allure of the modern battlefield.

WTF….this film still isn't in theaters?? I saw it on DVD when i visited Singapore a couple of months ago…..
It's brilliant though … gripping and stunning, right till the climax. The explosion in the opening scene is awesome.
Just what we need. Another freaking Iraq War movie.
You know. People are sick and tired of those films, I don't care if it's directed by Kathryn Bigelow or Michael Bay or even Uwe Boll. No one wants to me films set on an illegal, unjust and immoral invasion occupation and war.
These films are unnecessary and we see any more of these Iraq films, well, I think we need more Vietnam films after all.
