Disney Has 'No Plans' for More 'Narnia' After 'Dawn Treader'?
Maybe it is Disney that doesn't have any integrity

A month ago exactly I wrote up an article discussing a rumor that Disney would end the Narnia series of films after the third one, which in this case will be The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It was just a rumor post, nothing more.
I was then contacted by Disney telling me the rumor was "entirely false" and that I had no integrity in posting it. Rude comments from the magical world of Mickey Mouse aside it now seems like the rumor may actually be true, at least for current Narnia producer Mark Johnson who, according to First Showing made an appearance at the New York Comic Con this weekend that they have "no plans" at the moment to continue on past Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Seems interesting doesn't it. I hope my integrity is still intact with this article as well.
It makes perfect sense for the series to end after three films since the majority of people hardly know the "Narnia" series outside of "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". I have already seen a massive decline in interest in this summer's Prince Caspian compared to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and I can't see it increasing all that much more for Dawn Treader. Also, once Dawn Treader starts shooting later this fall for a May 2010 release the kids are going to be considerably older and might not fit the roles they originally started.
Who knows, money and success breed sequels, and if the next two Narnia installments are successful I think the franchise will continue in some shape or form. Perhaps they could bring George Lucas in to create animated films.
Hopefully this post will be followed up by a threatening email from Disney telling me how I have no "journalistic integrity" and how I should go to the studio before posting such a story. Because they are more than happy to give me all the information on all projects. Yay!

If I'm not mistaken, which I may be, is Lucy is the only character from the original four kids who returns in the Dawn Treader. A cousin will be introduced who journey's into Narnia with Lucy.
Actually, it is Lucy, Edmund and their cousin. It does make sense after the Dawn Treader, If I am not mistaken, the original kids don’t show up again until the last book (for a little while) and they’re adults. So they would have to recast anyway (unless the kids are adults by then) and the series would lose even more viewers.
Hmmmm, obviously I don't know enough about the series, but this sort of speaks to continuing the franchise anyway. I really don't think this franchise has the legs to keep audiences interested unless Prince Caspian and Dawn Treader really up the ante. Lion, Witch, Wardrobe was not a bad film, but it was so average it's not like it carried a huge following outside of those that were already interested.
That's right. Cousin Eustace [sp?].
Yes, Cousin Eustace. I think he returns in a book by himself. I'm not positive though.
I must say I really liked the first one without having ever read the books.
It's hard tho to make a franchise like this unless you do it the Lord of the Rings way.
I'll give the next one a try tho, after the first I think it deserves a fair chance.

I wish they would at least make two more the magicians nephew and the last battle.
