A Diablo Cody Penned TV Show? Yikes!
Not sure how this will all work out
I have the Juno DVD and I have had it for about a week now. I mildly enjoyed the film on first viewing, but since then the love for the film has turned me off especially after I interviewed director Jason Reitman. Basically I just thought the film received far too much credit than it actually deserved and I have this terrible tendency to get WAY to upset about things. Yeah, it's a personal flaw, but I am dealing with it.
Now I hear that a comedy pilot written by Diablo Cody (Juno's Oscar-winning screenwriter) is just about ready to get underway at Showtime. The show would be called "The United States of Tara" and stars Toni Collette as Tara, a wife and mother with multiple-personality syndrome. Portia Doubleday and Keir Gilchrist have also joined the cast as Tara's teens. John Corbett recently was cast as her husband.
Production on the pilot for "Tara," which Craig Gillespie is directing, will begin in April in Los Angeles. DreamWorks is producing the pilot.
Whatcha think? You up for a Diablo penned TV show? I would be willing to give it a shot, but I just assume the "quirk" would soon get on my nerves. That is if the dialogue is anything like what I heard in Juno.
