Deschanel is 'Happening' for Shyamalan
New thriller has its two leads
Zooey Deschanel is set to star alongside Mark Wahlberg in M. Night Shyamalan's next film The Happening for 20th Century Fox. The thriller is reportedly going to be more adult and shooting for an R-rating out of the gates.
The Happening tells the story of a man who takes his family on the run when an apocalyptical natural crisis threatens to end civilization; lensing starts in August in Philadelphia.
My opinion? Whatever, until we actually see a trailer I don't think it is possible to ever judge a Shyamalan movie because he has changed things up on us every single time. Is Wahlberg good casting? Based on Night's other films I don't think he fits, but he might fit perfectly. However, Deschanel does have the quirky attitude that already seems a good fit despite not knowing a whole lot about the feature.
The Happening is expected to release June 2008.
