DELGO Gets Key Creatives Rep and We Get Some Pics

Have you heard of a little studio by the name of Fathom Studios? Probably not, but you soon will as they are readying to make popular a "man/creature" by the name of Delgo in the first independently produced CGI feature film in the U.S., Delgo.

I heard a little about this flick a while back and even received the impressive press kit, but didn't have a ton of news to report until today when I received 21 images in relation to the film including stills, animation work and pics of the actors doing their thing and if you haven't heard who is involved in this film just check out the list of names: Val Kilmer, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Anne Bancroft, Chris Kattan, Louis Gossett Jr., Eric Idle, Kelly Ripa, Michael Clarke Duncan, Burt Reynolds, Malcolm McDowell, Sally Kellerman and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Delgo. Not bad eh?

Well with all that said Fathom Studios took another major leap today as they announced that Ken Kamins and his newly-formed management-production company, Key Creatives, will represent the studio’s services and broker the sale of the film.

Well-known for structuring Peter Jackson’s deals for The Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong, Kamins is no stranger to Hollywood outsiders and independent filmmakers. “I’m thrilled to be working with Fathom Studios,” said Kamins. “Delgo is a special film in a market that is looking for exceptional CG animated features. The timing for an independently produced CG feature couldn’t be better. Delgo represents an entrepreneurial spirit we appreciate. The filmmakers sought and secured their own funding, created and wrote their own story, built their own studio and made the picture happen. The enthusiasm of Delgo’s creators is surpassed only by the movie’s significant fan base.”

As for the release date of the film, in talking with a rep over at Fathom Studios they told me, "This news (Ken as our sales agent) will help us to have that date very soon. Right now we're looking at next year, the actual date wil depend on studio."
