Del Toro's 'Orphanage' Adopted by New Line
Guillermo del Toro shepherded flick getting a remake
After Pan's Labyrinth it seems like people believe Guillermo del Toro has the golden touch as it is now considered news when a movie he produced is getting a remake treatment with New Line picking up the English language remake rights to The Orphanage.
The Orphanage was directed by Antonio Bayona and will be released by Picturehouse this December. The story revolves around a woman who returns to the orphanage where she grew up with the intention of opening a home for handicapped children. Her son makes an invisible friend, who turns out to be the same "friend" that terrorized the woman when she was a child.
The film is already geting buzz, and if you have not yet seen the trailer click here and we have a whole gallery of photos here.
As for the remake there is really no more news than the word that it is getting made and will be released by New Line.
