They are killing two birds with one stone. Obviously, Dunst will probably not want to be in a fourth film as she is now a star in her own right. So if you introduce anyone, it would HAVE to be Gwen Stacy as that will please fans of the comic (like myself) as well as put an alternate love interest place for a fourth film. But now we'll see fans (like myself) complain about the characterization of Gwen and whether its done right. She has to have auburn hair and she has to have a black headband in her hair--like the original! That's obviously why Kristen had to die her hair red. Yes, I think you are right.
