Crystal Set for French Remake
WB keeps confidence in Billy.
Personally I believe Billy Crystal's career should be and remain with hosting the Oscar Awards but studios seem to feel different as he not only will be starring in New Line's Hairspray but Variety announced today that the aging comedian will be starring in Apres Vous, a remake of the French comedy, for Warner Bros.
Crystal will produce the feature along with Art Linson with Pierre Salvadori set to direct. The orignal film revolved around a headwaiter of a Paris bistro who happens upon a stranger who is about to commit suicide. After intervening, the waiter befriends the saved man — who promptly turns the waiter's life upside down.
As of right now there is no writer attached, therefore no production date has been set.
