The Cruise/Stiller Hardy Rumor is True!
Wow, the PR machine just ate this one right up
Wow, oh wow. I really can't believe it has come to this, but Variety is reporting that the earlier rumor out of TMZ is true and Tom Cruise and Ben Stiller will indeed star together in The Hardy Men for 20th Century Fox and Night at the Museum helmer Shawn Levy.
Variety brings us the story and also says that Stiller and Cruise are actively discussing the possibility of teaming for Stiller's directorial outing Tropic Thunder, which ironically is set up at Cruise's new nemesis studio, Paramount Pictures.
Apparently Tom has a fancy for Stiller's impersonations of him and has created a friendship with the jokester.
The Hardy Men will apparently go into production in 2008 and word is that it will be executed much in the way of the Pitt/Jolie starrer Mr. & Mrs. Smith. I just wonder who is wearing the leather dominatrix outfit.
The plot is described as:
The Hardy boys, once wunderkind youth sleuths, have grown up. Long estranged, they’re brought together to solve one last case.
Fox is searching for a writer to rewrite the current script which was originally penned by Michael Sargent.
