Cromwell Cast for 'Spider-Man 3'
Captain Stacy has a name.
Once again, the new character being represented by a big name actor in Spider-Man 3 is new to me, as James Cromwell has taken on the role of Captain Stacy, the father of Gwen Stacy, which will be played by Bryce Dallas Howard.
Filming has already begun as some early spy pics leaked online last week.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the backstory on Stacy reads as follows:
In the "Amazing Spider-Man" comic books, Stacy dies a heroic death as he saves a child during a battle between Spider-Man and another supervillain. Peter Parker love interest Gwen Stacy (Howard) ends up blaming Spider-Man for her father's death.
Spider-Man 3 is set to hit theaters on May 4, 2007.
