Craven's 'Breed' Gets Cast
Five aboard next Craven produced horror.
The Hollywood Reporter announces a large list of names for the upcoming Wes Craven produced flick The Breed. Five names were announced as Michelle Rodriguez, Taryn Manning, Oliver Hudson, Hill Harper and Eric Lively will topline the indie horror project with Nick Mastandrea making his directorial debut on the project.
The film is said to have been inspired by the Stephen King novel and film Cujo, and Hitchcock's The Birds as it follows five young friends who vacation on a peaceful deserted island only to discover that the canines they befriend are genetically altered and possess a frighteningly high level of intelligence — with an appetite to match.
One added bit of news is that it begins shooting on Monday and is currently slated for a fourth quarter 2005 release so this one may be hitting theaters soon.
