'Crank 2' Has Its Cast
Familiar faces back for more
I think I mentioned somewhere in an article that I finally saw Crank and enjoyed the shit out of it. It's a balls to the wall illogical mess and it is fun as hell, and as long as they don't take it too far over the top in the sequel it should prove to be good.
We already knew writer/director duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are back and so is star Jason Statham, but Variety now gives us the complete cast.
Both Amy Smart and Efren Ramirez are back joined by Clifton Collins Jr. who will play the nemesis as well as Bai Ling and Dwight Yoakam. Yoakam was also in the original.
The sequel will pick up exactly where the first film left off (believe it or not) and will feature Chev Chelios (Statham) as he faces a mobster (Collins Jr.) who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.
Yup, insane. Yup, interested.
The Neveldine/Taylor produced Pathology may look like shit, but I am more than interested to check out Crank 2: High Voltage. However, I think they should drop the Hollywood tag line and just go with Crank 2, but that's a minor nit to be picked.
