Could You Paz 'The Spirit' Please?
A little Vega for your graphic novel adaptation
Variety is reporting that Paz Vega is set to join Will Eisner's The Spirit for director Frank Marshall and Lionsgate Films.
The pic is an adaptation of the classic Will Eisner graphic novels centering on a rookie cop who returns from the dead to fight crime from the shadows. Along with Paz Vega the film stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes, Sarah Paulson, Stana Katic, Johnny Simmons, Dan Lauria, Louis Lombardi and Jaime King.
Lionsgate has set a January 16, 2009 release for the pic, which begins production today in New Mexico.
