'Constantine' Helmer Tackles Snow White
Now this is an interesting mix...
Maybe I am not completely up-to-par on what exactly the whole "Snow White" fairy tale is, but I have never heard this rendition as Walt Disney Pictures has set Francis Lawrence as the director of Snow and the Seven. Nope, it isn't the seven dwarfs, this time it is seven monks… I just wonder if they will still be called Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy and Sneezy.
This project is being called an East-meets-West take on the tale which enters on a British girl being raised in 19th century Hong Kong. When she realizes her destiny is to conquer an evil force, she must prepare to fight by being trained by seven Shaolin monks.
The title is currently just a working title and Disney plans to change it as the project is currently eyeing a 2008 start based on the script by Scott Moore and Jon Lucas.
Lawrence directed Constantine in 2005 and will release I Am Legend starring Will Smith later this year.
