Oscar Presenters

Complete List of 2012 Oscar Presenters and Performers

Kermit and Miss Piggy plus the cast of 'Bridesmaids' lead the way

2012 Oscar Awards presentersOver the last month the Academy has been announcing the list of celebrities that will be presenting at the 2012 Oscars and today they added Oscar nominee Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) to the list. Each year I try and maintain a running list of the presenters, but don't like to get started too early so today I finally felt it was time to give you the rundown.

I will also be adding names as they are announced the closer we get to Sunday's Oscar telecast.

The notable names already among the Oscar presenters include the cast of Bridesmaids as well as Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, considering Cirque du Soleil will be taking over the night's big performance seeing how there are only two Best Original Song nominees and neither will actually be performed during the telecast.

So far 24 names have been added to the list, which is directly below. As new names are announced I will be sure to add them at the top. See you back here for the Oscars this Sunday where we will be live-blogging and announcing the winners as they happen... Join us won't you?

where are the winners of the last year ? will they not present their category?

    • Alex Roggio

I assume you're talking about the acting awards. Well, I liked it when they had 5 past winners inducting the new winner. It was awesome to see so many stars on the stage talking about the nominees. It also made each nominee seem special in their own right and not completely overshadowed by the eventual winners.

Oh well, I don't think they'll be returning to that format, but it would be nice if they did.

      • Daryl John

I totally agree with you Alex Roggio, it was started in 2008 when they handed the Oscar acting awards to

        Sean Penn (presented by Michael Douglas/ Robert de Niro/ Adrien Brody/ Ben Kingsley/ Anthony Hopkins);

Kate Winslet (presented by Marion Cotillard/ Shirley Maclaine/ Halle Berry/ Nicole Kidman/ Sophia Loren)

Penelope Cruz (presented by Tilda Swinton/ Anjelica Huston/ Goldie Hawn/ Whoopi Goldberg/ Eva Marie Saint)

posthumously to Heath Ledger (presented by Alan Arkin/ Christopher Walken/ Kevin Kline/ Joel Grey/ Cuba Gooding, Jr.)

SUCH A JOY TO SEE THOSE PAST OSCAR WINNERS- Immensely remarkable and special. Hope they'd do it again :-)

  • Jacob

I guess either Michael Douglas or Meryl Streep will be presenting Best Picture. Just hope it's not Tom Hanks again: his announcement of BP in 2010 (when The Hurt Locker won) was surprisingly quick and with cero emotion.

  • Jeff

I'll be interested in the sci-tech awards if Milla is hosting that.

  • Jack

Wow, what a shitty lineup. Where are the older actors and previous winners?

  • Kevin

Can someone explain why year after year the Academy has Cameron Diaz as a presenter?
