Columbus Directing 'Sub-Mariner'
Yet another Marvel comic gets feature film adaptation.
Harry Potter 1 and 2 helmer, Chris Columbus, has signed on to helm and produce a feature film adaptation of the Marvel Comic character Sub-Mariner for Universal Pictures.
The screenplay was written by Road to Perdition scribe, David Self, and is based on Marvel's first superhero, Prince Namor, a half-amphibian man from the kingdom of Atlantis. A troubled rebel with a fierce temper, he has both helped the human race and fought against it when humankind polluted his underwater kingdom.
Filming dates and cast announcements were not made.
