'Chainsaw Prequel' Director Named
Liebesman guiding Leatherface.
The slightly talked about Texas Chainsaw Massacre Prequel is moving even further forward as Jonathan Liebesman (Darkness Falls) has been named as director for New Line Cinema.
The 2003 remake amassed $80 million, which gives good reason to make another and considering a prequel has never been done, why not. The prequel is supposedly going to take place 3 years prior to the 2003 film and will be told as an origin story on why Thomas Hewitt (Andrew Bryniarski) became Leatherface.
The prequel is currently expected to be released during the Halloween season 2006.
