He also won acclaim at the Royal Court in the title role of King Lear and, some years later, David Hare's production of My Zinc Bed with Julia Ormond.
Television credits include Pecksniff in the award winning BBC TV series Martin Chuzzlewit and the Duke in David Thacker's production of Measure for Measure as part of the Performance series for the BBC.
