Kate Hudson won a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress as well as numerous other honors and recognition for her memorable performance as Penny Lane in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous.

Hudson made her studio film debut in Risa Bramon Garcia’s offbeat comedy 200 Cigarettes, co-starring Ben Affleck, Courtney Love, Christina Ricci, Jay Mohr, Dave Chappelle, Martha Plimpton, Paul Rudd and Gaby Hoffman. Critics throughout the country singled out her performance. Next she co-starred in director Morgan J. Freeman’s Desert Blue and in the psychological drama Gossip.

Hudson’s additional feature film credits include a starring role opposite Heath Ledger and Wes Bentley for director Shekhar Kapur in the period epic The Four Feathers; Dr. T and the Women; and About Adam.
