Over the past 15 years, Dylan Walsh has amassed an impressive list of television and film credits.
Recently, Walsh had a recurring role on the WB series "Everwood." Walsh will also soon be seen starring as the antagonist in "The Lone Ranger," a M.O.W. for the WB. Earlier this season, he had a multi-episode guest arc as a sexy fireman on the new John Wells/CBS project "Presidio Med" as well as the love interest in the Andie MacDowell driven pilot "Jo" for director Mike Newell and CBS.
Walsh's recent silver screen credits include Clint Eastwood's feature Bloodwork in which he starred opposite Eastwood as a hard-nosed detective. In 2001 he worked on four films including the Paramount feature We Were Soldier's opposite Mel Gibson, in which he played a young captain under the command of Gibson in Vietnam; Jet Boy, in which he starred as an undercover cop; Devil Wore a Skirt for director Fiona Mackenzie and Power Play directed by Joseph Zito. This string of feature projects followed his shooting of the independent films Par 6, Chapter Zero and the HBO film Final Voyage.
In 2000 Walsh gained distinction as one of the few actors ever to complete both an hour drama (NBC's "L.A. Sheriffs") and a half-hour pilot (CBS's "Untitled Legal Aid Project") in the same season.
Walsh is known for his starring roles in the critically acclaimed project Nobody's Fool opposite Paul Newman; the action adventure film Congo and his role as "Officer Jimmy Doyle" on Steven Bochco's hour drama "Brooklyn South" for CBS.
Born in Los Angeles, Walsh spent the first 10 years of his life in Africa, India and Indonesia as both of his parents were in the Foreign Service. After his 10th birthday, his family settled in Annandale, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C.
Walsh made his professional acting debut while still in high school, appearing with prestigious theatre companies at the Arena Stage and the Studio Theatre. He was an English major at the University of Virginia, but spent most of his time in the theatre department. During his summers, he performed with the Heritage Repertory Company appearing in such classics as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Curse of the Starving Class, Romeo and Juliet, Death of a Salesman and Our Town. Ever since making his film debut in John Boorman's Where the Heart Is, Walsh has worked non-stop in both film and television.
