Emmy-winner Andre Braugher finds he is able to cross over from television to film to theatre with ease. Perhaps best known for his riveting Emmy-winning portrayal of Detective Frank Pembleton on the NBC series Homicide: Life on the Street, Braugher currently stars in the critically acclaimed CBS series Hack, starring opposite David Morse. In 2001, he received an Emmy nomination for his role as Dr. Ben Gideon in Gideon's Crossing.

Braugher started his television career as the late Telly Savalas' sidekick in the television movies based on the original Kojak series. Additional telefilm credits include his Emmy-nominated performance in HBO's The Tuskegee Airmen; Showtime's A Soldier's Girl; TNT's Passing Glory; NBC's Homicide: The Movie; 10,000 Black Men Named George, a Showtime Original Film that earned him a NAACP nomination; HBO's Somebody Has to Shoot the Picture; TNT's The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson; and NBC's Murder in Mississippi. Braugher made his directorial debut with one vignette of the Showtime trilogy Love Songs, in which he also starred.

In addition to Braugher's success on the small screen, audiences have seen him in a variety of feature film roles. Film credits include Primal Fear, with Richard Gere; Spike Lee's Get on the Bus; the Oscar^®-winning film Glory; City of Angels, starring Nicolas Cage, Meg Ryan and Dennis Franz; All the Rage, starring Jeff Daniels, Gary Sinise, Joan Allen and Ann Paquin; Duets, opposite Gwyneth Paltrow; A Better Way to Die; and Frequency, starring Dennis Quaid.

Braugher has appeared on stage a handful of times, most notably with the New York Shakespeare Festival in Measure for Measure and Twelfth Night and most recently, in the title role of Henry V, which earned him an Obie Award.
