Casting the 2008 Presidential Election
COMMENTS
An election year feature that must not be ignored...
Ron Paul (David Paymer)
Do I really need to explain myself on this one? David Paymer could easily play this jovial Internet sensation who wanted to abolish Social Security… "but not overnight".
Others Considered: William H. Macy, David Straitharn, Bill Murray
Rudy Giuliani (Larry David)
Larry David seems the perfect fit to play Rudy Giuliani. The two worked together on "Seinfeld" in the past and with David being a long time New Yorker I couldn't think of anyone better.
Mitt Romney (Bruce Campbell)
Is there really anyone better suited to play a man named Mitt than Bruce Campbell? We would just clean Bruce up a bit, give him that used car salesman look and let him do his thing.
Others Considered: George Clooney, David Hasselhoff, Bill Pullman
Mike Huckabee (Kevin Spacey)
Nope, they aren't brothers, but I'll be damned if they don't look it and we all know Kevin Spacey would be perfect to play this evangelical goofball that wanted to close the doors on the IRS.
Others Considered: Tom Hanks, Jackie Earl Haley
John Edwards (Tobey Maguire)
This was probably the hardest one to cast and it went to Tobey Maguire because of the clean cut appearance, goofy smile and hairspray solid haircut. Maguire is a good enough actor and who knows, maybe we will get to see a deleted scene of that adulterous affair Edwards had with Rielle Hunter. Oh baby!
Hillary Clinton (Annette Bening)
I know the pictures usually sell these decisions based on how similar the two look and I know Hillary is 11 years older than Bening, but a little makeup and a haircut and these two have such similar facial structures and Bening has the perfect capabilities as an actress to nail this role.
Others Considered: Candice Bergen, Joan Allen, Carrie Fisher
And on the next and final page you will find our candidates, their running mates and the first wives.

Any idea what the storyline is like or ist going to be a big surprise?
It's not going to be one of those films with 12 endings like Lord of the Rings or the previous elections right? One of those dragged out affairs.
Remember when casting the bulldog for Lou Dobbs: It needs to be a bulldog that hates illegal Chihuahua immigrants
Maybe its just me but I don't find Tina Fey all that funny….Palin couldn't be played by anyone else but I just dont think she is that funny. I tried watching 30 Rock and couldn't get through the 1st season they all annoyed me so badly.
