Casting Set for DARWIN
Stupidity to be awarded with big screen feature...
Winona Ryder and Joseph Fiennes have been tapped to topline The Darwin Awards for director Finn Taylor. The film will be based on the Internet awards that many of you have most likely received in your e-mail inbox featuring the tongue-in-cheek award bestowed upon those who die or maim themselves out of colossal stupidity. The often posthumous honor is designed to recognize catastrophes so egregious that, by the death of those responsible, the gene pool is improved for future generations.
Fiennes portrays a forensic detective who pairs with an insurance claims investigator (Ryder) on a road trip to create the profile of a potential Darwin Award winner.
Along with Ryder and Fiennes the cast will be rounded out by David Arquette, Jeffrey Tambor, Tim Blake Nelson, Alessandro Nivola and Emily Mortimer.
