You know, I sorta like bringing you the news this way. It gives me a chance to bring it to you much quicker and more concise. I hope you like today's casting bits.

LIVELY AND MINGHELLA ARE ELVIS AND ANNABELLE

Originally this pic was supposed to star Amber Tamblyn and Shia LaBeouf, but apparently Blake Lively and Max Minghella have wormed their way into the roles of the title characters for Elvis and Annabelle for writer/director Will Geiger.

Variety reports the film will begin shooting today (4/10/06) in Texas.

In the film Lively plays Annabelle, a beauty queen who wins the title of Miss Texas and then instantly drops dead on stage. Minghella plays a young Texan working at a mortuary who falls in love with Annabelle, who miraculously comes back to life on the embalming table.

KRASINSKI GETS DOUBLE DUTY
John Krasinski may not be a name you know now (unless you watch NBC's "The Office"), but he is set to star in two upcoming films for Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures.

First off is Dreamgirls for Paramount followed by Holiday for Columbia. Before those flicks he has a role in Christopher Guest's For Your Consideration, which, ironically enough, stars British "Office" star, Ricky Gervais.

JONES AND WILLIAMS ARE MARSHALL
Variety is reporting that the cast of McG's We Are Marshall has just added two more fems as January Jones and Kimberly Williams-Paisley have joined the cast. Jones is set to play Matthew Fox's wife and Williams-Paisley will be Matthew McConaughey's wife in the football drama.

We Are Marshall tells an inspiring true story set in Huntington, West Virginia, of a small town's efforts to rebuild after the devastating effects of a tragic plane crash.

VICTOR GARCIA GOES ROGUE
Okay, so this isn't casting, but a director was named so give me a break. Variety is reporting that Victor Garcia is heading on over to Rogue Pictures to helm an untitled thriller for the studio based on a script from Craig Gerber.

The film was pitched to the studio by Garcia and is said to be a tale about a girl who wakes up from a 15-year coma and finds herself in a haunted hospital ward.
