Casting Begins for CHARLIE & THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

Thanks to a RopeofSilicon.com reader we learn that casting has begun for two of the children's roles in Tim Burton's upcoming remake of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory down in Houston, Texas.

The two roles people were auditioning for were Violet Beauregarde and Mike Teevee and here is what our reader had to say:

Just writing to let you know my 14 yr. old daughter Danielle Kirkpatrick who is signed with Actors Ect. auditioned for the part of Violet in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory today at the Wingate Hotel in Houston TX. She was seen by Marty Cherrix the casting director and was told she was amazing. We are keeping our fingers crossed for good news!

I do know there were auditions for two parts for the children. Violet, and the little boy who watches television all the time. We were in Houston for the day to see auditions until 4:00 p.m. The only parts who were for Americans, at least for the children, were these two. They were going to take the tapes they had made of the children with them back to London to decide who would they would pick. They obviously were auditioning in quite a few places in the U.S. Of course we are hoping that Danielle will be chosen. I will definitely let you know when we hear something!
