New Pictures from the 'Carrie' Remake and Julianne Moore Joins 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay'

Chloe Moretz;Julianne Moore

It was previously rumored Julianne Moore would star as President Alma Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and Part 2 and at the end of last week Lionsgate confirmed the report as she will star opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the third and fourth installments of the franchise. Speaking of which, Alan Gould of investment group Evercore is already predicting a massive $950 million for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, two months ahead of its November 22 release.

Hitting theaters before that will be Kimberly Peirce's Carrie a remake adaptation of Stephen King's career-starting novel in which Moore stars alongside Chloe Moretz as the mother to Moretz's titular character and today I have eight new pictures from the October 18 release, which I've included directly below and over to the second page of this article.

Check out the pictures below and on Page Two and if you haven't yet seen the trailer for the film click here.

I like the Julianne Moore that was in great films like Lebowski, Boogie Nights and Magnolia, where did that person go to? Don't answer that, its rhetorical.

She went to typecasting and mainstream roles,

I'll accept this answer because you've agreed with me haha I don't need any Hunger Games fanboy abuse ;-)

Fear not, she'll return in David Cronenberg's "Map of the Stars" next year!

Though, I must say, Moore always makes the best of the somewhat crappy roles she takes. Even in the "Carrie" remake, she looks pretty great. The movie, however, does not.

Why are they remaking Carrie? Is there any pent-up demand for a Carrie remake? I get so sick of all these remakes.

Disney rereleases their old movies in theaters at almost no production cost and makes some money. Why can't other studios do that? Instead of remaking a movie that doesn't need to be remade, why don't they just put the original Carrie in theaters again? Is it that the theater chains wouldn't agree to show it?
