Cannes 2010: First Trailer for Olivier Assayas's 'Carlos'
The review is coming soon...
Yesterday I caught the five and a half hour, three-part drama Carlos from director Olivier Assayas and am currently working on the review as I pack up and head out the door to watch Doug Liman's Fair Game. However, before I do that I thought I would share the first trailer for the film, which aired part one on French television just yesterday.
Starring Edgar Ramirez as the revolutionary, mercenary and murderer Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, a.k.a. Carlos "The Jackal", the film is relentless in its detail, perhaps overly so. This isn't a Hollywood effort as it closely covers about ten years of Carlos's life and extends as far as 20 years.
I will have more detail in my review later today, so for now here is the trailer and you can browse the RopeofSilicon gallery of images from the film right here.
