Broadbent Joins 'Young Victoria'
This one has a royal cast
Jim Broadbent is set to join already cast Emily Blunt, Rupert Friend, Miranda Richardson and Mark Strong in The Young Victoria for director Jean-Marc Vallée telling the tale of the monarch’s turbulent rise to power.
The film follows the romance and marriage of Queen Victoria (Blunt) to her first cousin Albert (Friend) during her tumultuous 19th-century British reign.
Broadbent will play King William, Victoria’s uncle, while Richardson has been cast as the Duchess of Kent, Victoria’s mother. Mark Strong has been cast as the devious Conroy.
Production is scheduled to begin later this month in the U.K.
