Breslin and Leguizamo Know What's 'Happening'
Shyamalan is stacking the deck
M. Night Shyamalan adds another interesting name to his 20th Century Fox thriller The Happening as Variety reports John Leguizamo is joining Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel in the flick and The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Spencer Breslin is joining the feature as well.
The film is described as a paranoid thriller about a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity. Leguizamo plays Wahlberg's best friend.
Not even 15-year-old Breslin is positive he will be one of Wahlberg's children in the film, but he describes his character as "a typical teenage boy, a bit of a smartass. I read an older draft of the screenplay which may change," Breslin said.
Filming will finally get underway on the picture next month in Philly with a release date of Friday, June 13, 2008. Oh, scary, hopefully The Happening will do better on Friday the 13th than Captivity did.
