Brad Pitt Narrates the New 'To the Wonder' Trailer

The film is pretty much the same only 110 minutes longer

It made me laugh when I saw this new trailer for Terrence Malick's To the Wonder first premiered on "Entertainment Tonight". If you want to find a way to start with a theater filled with people excited to see a new film featuring Argo star and director, Ben Affleck, end with an theater filled with empty seats, sell this film to the general public and watch what happens. And if you consider yourself a member of the general public, don't take that as an insult, this movie most likely isn't for you.

As introspective and whispered as the film is, this new trailer is actually far more talky than any ten minute stretch in the film. The way it opens, with Affleck and co-star Olga Kurylenko whispering a few random thoughts, is really what you should expect. In fact, it's almost a feature length version of those Brad Pitt Chanel N°5 commercials just with prettier pictures. Come to think of it, that's exactly what it is... So, I made a few modifications of my own...

First the original trailer, second is my 40-second take on it with Pitt narrating instead of Affleck, Kurylenko and Javier Bardem.

Magnolia will release To the Wonder on April 12, you can read my full review of the film from Toronto last year right here.

The one thing I will say is that all Malick films really seem to have great trailers.

Wow, who knew? Those awful Chanel #5 commercials were actually just part of an elaborate puzzle set up by Malick to advertise his new movie!

Great trailer Brad..but seriously Mallick use a lof of pretty images for this movie, heard it was his weakest effort till now. Have higher hopes for the other 2 movies he recently filmed.

haha that was hilarious, but according to IMDB, Malick has three films in post production right now. Are we going to have to sit through 4 Malick films this year??

Loved your trailer mash-up, Brad. I have yet to delve into Malicks filmography, I reall y want to check out Badlands and The Thin Red Line though, I had some interest in Tree of Life... Not sure if I am down for this one or not yet, It looks to be beautifully shot, but from what I understand, that's pretty standard for his films anyway... His next two films sound a little more interesting to me...

    Great trailer, Brad.

The second trailer isn't as good as the first one, though. I've watched the first one so many times because it's the best trailer I've ever seen. My expectations are through the roof and I used to hate Malick. Revisiting his films has been a lot of fun.

I loved The Tree of Life so that trailer was all kinds of awesomeness to me.
