Iron Man crushed everything in sight including Pat Dempsey and GTA IV!
I'm pleased about a few things this weekend. First off, Iron Man crushed last summer's Transformers. This pleases me because Iron Man is a better movie – so I'm glad to see the public getting on board. Made of Honor was destroyed too, another happy happening. Let's break it down!
#1 movie predicted correctly: 2 Weeks In A Row
1. Iron Man
Very impressive and they are very well set-up for the sequel. The only question is when? 2010? Let's start signing those $20m contracts boys!
Result: 100.7 million (My rank: #1, $15.5m off)
It did a little better than I would have thought; it looks as though a few poor bastards had to take in Iron Man and this one this weekend.
Result: 15.5 million (My rank: #2, $2m off)
3. Baby Mama
I'm just a conservative sort of fellow. But it's also pleasing that Baby Mama made more than Made of Honor in its opening weekend. They both look stupid but Made of Honor takes the cake I think. The stupid cake that is.
Result: 10.3 million (My rank: #3, $2.1m off)
Had the dollars right but I forgot that no one would see Kumar in weekend two. My bad.
Result: 6.1 million (My rank: #5, Dead On)
Perhaps when the actuals come out I'll have nailed the order? Nah, it's better if this one stays buried. Let's just pretend it never happened.
Result: 6.0 million (My rank: #4, $.9m off)
Finally Forbidden Kingdom slipped a bit. It only took me three weeks to get dialed in here.
Result: 4.2 million (My rank: #6, $1.3m off)
7. Nim's Island
It only took $2.7m to crack the top seven?? That's loony.
Result: 2.7 million (My rank: #7, $0.4m off)
8. Prom Night
I'm releasing my home movies next weekend. Will they take 7th place? Or slip to 8th?
Result: 2.5 million (My rank: #9, $.2m off)
9. 21
This film has cracked $100m worldwide. Doesn't that blow your mind?
Result: 2.1 million (My rank: #8, $.4m off)
10. 88 Minutes
Hell no, I didn't rank this. Can you blame me? Even Pacino is pretending he wasn't in this one when people ask him at parties. "88 Minutes? Never heard of it. Maybe you're thinking of De Niro?"
Result: 1.6 million (My rank: Not Ranked)
