Box-Office Wrap-Up: Feb. 22 – Feb. 24, 2008

Result: 24.0 million (My rank: #1, $3.5m off)

Now that's nice predicting for your Oracle dollar. I hope I do as well in the Oscar pool… like $30 is on the line.

Result: 12.7 million (My rank: #2, $0.6m off)

Three for three and you know how we do. My other bet this evening is $20 on Ratatouille winning the Best Animation Oscar. Some poor fool bet me it wouldn't. Sucker.

Result: 12.6 million (My rank: #3, $2.8m off)

Man, I wish I had more time to pat myself on the back here. I am killing it this weekend.

I thought more people would see this because they did last weekend. Perhaps they were all V-Day stragglers? I'm just happy I'm not dating one of them.

Six for six? Should I retire? Plus I was only $.1m off. That's quality. Back to my Oscar prep – I've already done 30 minutes on the treadmill so hopefully I won't have a heart attack. B-Luv is cooking flank steak. Mmmmm…. flank steak.

Well, the streak had to end at some point, didn't it? They should be really happy with this result. It's over $5000 per theater which is precisely $4800 more than they deserved.

It will be interesting to see what winning one Adapted Screenplay Oscar does for this one. Hopefully nothing, it's cashed in enough.

It was a bit stronger at the box office this weekend than I would have thought; clearly people are bored out of their freaking minds.
