Happyness takes Eragon by more than a nose and the Oracle misses another weekend.

I'm very unhappy. I did everything I could, hit the gym, did the research, and I came up short once again. I want to say next weekend will be better but I can't because December is a nightmare for The Oracle. Too many big films per weekend, too many wildcards with awards season affecting things. I can't wait until this summer when I can just pencil in Harry Potter and Spiderman 3 for a few months and call it good.
#1 movie predicted correctly: Zero Weeks In A Row
As it turns out this was the uplifting movie the crowd was waiting for. I do wonder if at least a few million dollars here might have been Golden Globe related.
Result: $27.0 million (My rank: #2, $6.6m off)
I nailed the dollar amount so I'm not taking a bullet there. There was the exact amount of interest I figured, it was only that Will Smith rocked me, much like he rocked the show Fresh Prince of Bel Air so many years ago.
Result: $23.4 million (My rank: #1, $.8m off)
Disaster central. Clearly the public wasn't anticipating it. However, I think this week starts winter break from school so it may have a decent week two.
Result: $12.0 million (My rank: #3, $5.5m off)
What is left to say? I met someone the other day who said they were seeing it this weekend. I did not ask them where they've been the past two months.
Result: $8.5 million (My rank: #5, $1.4m off)
B-Love said Winslet and Law aren't rom-com fare and Jack Black still isn't bankable. That sounds pretty much right on the money to me, unlike my predictions lately.
Result: $8.2 million (My rank: #6, $1.7m off)
Yes, it is glorious to see this slide from first to sixth and lose to two films it beat last weekend. That's called a soft week two due to word o' mouth. Off I go on my gloatmobile.
Result: $7.7 million (My rank: #4, $1.0m off)
Hey, here's a nice prediction for once. I'm very strong on the bottom of these lists so I may start predicting movies five through fifteen for you.
Result: $6.2 million (My rank: #7, $.3m off)
Another nice call. What's this, about thirteen percent off? That's better than the guys in suits do.
Result: $5.7 million (My rank: #8, $.7m off)
Hey, wait a sec, what the hell? I have no idea how this retained so much box office. I can only guess divine intervention.
Result: $4.7 million (My rank: #10, $2.3m off)
It's like my man 50 said, don't go to Spokane, cuz you wouldn't understand Spokane. This should be on DVD by Christmas.
Result: $3.6 million (My rank: Not Ranked, Infinity off)
