#1 movie predicted correctly: One Week in a Row
At dinner this evening B-luv opined this wouldn't crack $25m. I've already got it doing worse than Saw III, I can't see dropping it even further.
Estimate: $29.6 million
It's great counter-programming. But do they have enough awareness? And can a straight-up drama perform on Halloween weekend? The answer is: sort of.
Estimate: $8.7 million
The story of this weekend is how the public will respond to this with Saw IV opening. And if you factor in that horrors traditionally bleed heavily on weekend two the 56% drop predicted here starts seeming sane.
Estimate: $7.0 million
I think they should ban critics from even paying to see his movies. They could have all of our pictures up or something. I've got a 46% drop forcasted, a little steeper than last week.
Estimate: $6.1 million
I'm watching Grey's Anatomy right now. What the hell happened to that show? Utter disaster at the Legel mansion.
Estimate: $5.8 million
Clooney dropped off White Jazz this week. However, he's still the sexiest man alive according to People Mag. No one can ever take that from him.
Estimate: $4.5 million
Why not? Wes could pull down $6000 per theater when he expands this weekend, right? They've got the Portman angle working hard, and they are calling it a comedy on the trailers. It's a full court press to trick people into seeing it. I won't trick you, it's not a comedy. But it is worth seeing.
Estimate: $4.2 million
My head hurts just thinking about this title. I wonder if they would let me re-write it? I'd do it for free, that's just the type of swell fellow I am. Perhaps the DVD could have my version? Work with me here people.
Estimate: $2.9 million
Whenever I hear of this title I think of that Violent Femmes song "Gone, Daddy, Gone." They should have used that as a theme song. But it's an odd name for a kidnap movie just in general, don't you think?
Estimate: $2.9 million
This is the longest title ever. In fact, had I not figured out how to copy/paste it I would have passed out from exertion. I've got it dropping 50 percent this weekend but it invariably will be more. Hey, what do you expect from the ten slot?
Estimate: $2.6 million
