Dark Knight WILL break the record. You heard it here first.

#1 movie predicted correctly: 0 Weeks in a Row
The only question left on this one is the whole breaking the record conversation. That number is $151 million and it's held by the horrific Spider-Man 3. Dark Knight is around 100x better as a movie and it has huge buzz and IMAX-tacular footage too. So why not? I'm manning up and taking it to set the all-time record. It's the least I can do.
Estimate: $152.1 million
I would call this counter-programming except for the salient fact that this can't be anyone's first choice. So will people see both? Sure. Around three million of them.
Estimate: $21.0 million
Hancock will eventually beat Hellboy II. By eventually I mean "this weekend."
Estimate: $16.7 million
Why? Simple. Dark Knight competes more with Hellboy II than it does Hancock. I don't make the rules. I just Oracle 'em.
Estimate: $15.5 million
Between this and Mummy 3 this is shaping up to be the summer of Brendan! Oh wait, I just got off the phone with Morgan Freeman's people. Evidently Wanted and Dark Knight trump Mr. Fraser. Sorry bud.
Estimate: $10.9 million
Where's your Oscar talk now! Huh? That's what I thought. Sadly, this film has already been forgotten.
Estimate: $10.8 million
Honestly, if they announced on Sunday that this film made $32 dollars I wouldn't be surprised. Like limbo, you can't go low enough here.
Estimate: $8.4 million
This will pass $200 million worldwide and we are locked for sequel-dom!
Estimate: $6.1 million
This will pass $160 million worldwide but we're not exactly locked for sequel-dom!
Estimate: $3.9 million
The only other controversial pick of the weekend, it's this or Panda in the ten slot. I'm going with Eddie for giggs.
Estimate: $2.6 million

  1. Actually, the fact that WALL-E has been "forgotten" by audiences probably helps its Oscar chances. The Academy hates it when the public likes the movies that win.
