#1 movie predicted correctly: 1 Week in a Row
The early word is that it's terrible. Six percent on Rotten Tomatoes? Ouch. But that won't stop the masses from checking it out. These people are starved for entertainment. How do you think Meet the Spartans won a weekend?
Estimate: $25.7 million
I have it doing a little worse than First Sunday… because Martin Lawrence is no Tracy Morgan.
Estimate: $17.3 million
I love that they are "Extending it for another weekend!!!!!" Uh, you think? They are probably swimming in gold coins, Scrooge McDuck style. But thanks for the favor guys, I'll be sure to rush out and lay down $15 to catch this one.
Estimate: $16.5 million
How's that for a drop between 3rd and 4th place? Now, on to a serious discussion of The Eye. Wouldn't you pay to see a flick where Alba switches brains with someone instead? Man, I should write scripts!
Estimate: $5.6 million
We're in the "hell" portion of the rankings, six films within 2.3 million of each other. Luckily for you I've got my giant dart board really working overtime today.
Estimate: $4.7 million
6. Juno
I saw this one on the cover of "Entertainment Weekly" last week… or as I like to call it "Tired Times."
Estimate: $ million
Oh, I forgot to tell my story about why I didn't see The Bucket List. So, I was at the screening with B-Luv. Things were great. The movie was about 20 minutes away from starting. Then, out of nowhere, this giant knob sat next to me and put his elbow in my chest. He laughed at trailers. He talked to the screen. He was probably the most annoying person on the planet. So, faced with 90 minutes of Mr. Idiot I chose to walk. I beat feat out of there. Am I ashamed? No, not in the slightest. You've got to draw the line somewhere.
Estimate: $3.8 million
I don't have a story about why I didn't see this. They didn't screen it for critics… which definitely didn't help its chances.
Estimate: $3.4 million
They added a bunch of theaters on me last weekend without notice. So really I have no idea this weekend on how this will do. I can't imagine word of mouth is all that strong. This isn't a Joe Sixpack sort of film.
Estimate: $3.3 million
10. Rambo
There is a pretty strong chance that Vince Vaughn will jump up and take There Will Be Blood's spot. When that happens I will still claim victory. That's just how we do.
Estimate: $3.2 million
