Box-Office Oracle: Apr. 11 – Apr. 13, 2008

Many folk are taking Prom Night to take the crown. That could be. Having a PG-13 rating helps it. But I simply think the trailer here is better. The movie itself probably isn't; but no one will know that when they purchase a ticket.

Estimate: $15.0 million

Yeah, it's gonna be close. I just need the teen dollar to stay somewhat in check to pull off the upset victory. My other rationale is Prom Night doesn't have much in the way of star power. Genius, right?

Estimate: $14.1 million

The fact that it fell only 36% last weekend says something about our country and marketplace. America may be in a recession but the stupid folk still have cash to burn.

Estimate: $8.2 million

It makes me happy when I don't have to review the kid's movies. It's like dodging a bullet.

Estimate: $7.7 million

It also feels good that this one was unanimously panned. Whenever the critics and the general public can agree on something it's a brighter day. Way to pass on this one friendos!

Estimate: $6.2 million

Next week is Sarah Marshall… which means our long national nightmare is just about over. I'm sure I'll get to see Iron Man the week after. Right publicists? Right???

Estimate: $4.7 million

I'm almost putting it here out of pity. This one isn't going to make a fucking dime.

Don't mix up the game – this one was smashed last weekend. Smashed like a pumpkin. See? That was the teen dollar passing. Do that again this weekend my teen friends, one more time for ol' uncle laremy.

Estimate: $3.7 million

What if they started taxing every movie that had a fart joke? They could put it towards building schools or something. The world would be a better place and whatnot.

Estimate: $3.1 million

Like 200,000 people are going to see this in the next three days. Way more people will have a pizza. And yet, I don't EVER get to rank pizzas on this site. B-Luv is a real commie that way. Sheesh.
