Keanu won, but the whole economy is the real loser.
Newsflash: The ecomomy is doomed. Also, and in a related note — if you release terrible movies people eventually get wise. It was the perfect storm this weekend. A perfect storm of futility.
#1 movie predicted correctly: 2 Week In A Row
What's $24m between friends? Thank God (for Fox) that the budget was only $80m. Are they allowed to ask for a bailout now?
Result: 31.0 million (My rank: #1, $24.2m off)
Let's just all focus on how good this prediction was.
Result: 13.2 million (My rank: #2, $1.9m off)
3. Twilight
Even better! Twilight has made $150m on a budget of $40m . Plus they just signed a new director, the guy who did About a Boy. I like the choice.
Result: 8.0 million (My rank: #3, $0.2m off)
4. Bolt
You gotta like that Bolt Golden Globe nomination. I don't see it happening for them come Oscar time though.
Result: 7.5 million (My rank: #4, $2.7m off)
5. Australia
Each weekend this fails I get a little glow in my heart. It's like my personal holiday greeting card. "Happy Holidays Oracle – people hate Australia!"
Result: 4.2 million (My rank: #6, $1.8m off)
Not ranked? Hmmm, was this just an accounting error? Oh, now I see. No films made any money this weekend. It was like predicting the fastest turtle.

Poor John Leguizamo. He's a solid actor, but he keeps getting stuck in nonsense projects.

Where is Delgo? Why did I not rank so many films?

9. Milk
What happened? Looks like that initial pop isn't going to get this film anywhere. They will need Oscar to bail them out.

10. Transporter 3
End strongly, that's what my parents taught me. The only thing that's left to ponder is the box office chances of Seven Pounds and Yes Man. Probably not good for either, right? It's been that kind of year.
