Bousman Won't Let Paris Die

Come on Darren! What the hell is this about?

At the Comic Con panel director Darren Bousman talked only briefly about his upcoming musical thriller Repo! The Genetic Opera, and it is no surprise to me that he didn't mention that he had cast Paris Hilton in the film. I can't see that being perceived all that well as we need less of this girl, not more.

Hilton is joining Alexa Vega and Paul Sorvino in the film set in the year 2056 when an epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet, scientists gear for a massive organ harvest. A biotech giant comes up with easy organ payment plans, but all financed organs are subject to legal default, including repossession at the hands of repo men.

If you didn't notice in my opening sentence this is a musical thriller, and YES, Paris will sing in the film. "This movie has become my life," Bousman told Variety. "I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role — Paris came in and owned it. She is this role."

Hmmmm, should we believe him? Let's see…

Repo! is Hilton's first film job since her brief jail stint, and since she's agentless, her deal was negotiated by Paris Hilton Entertainment's Jason Moore, who manages her.

Let's hope it's her last.
