why waste money on soething that was not good to begin with… adding more time will hardly help…it was like watching 80's tv show on a giant screen with Dr.Manhattans dwang in my face… it added nothing to the movie and the story was irrelevan, badly told, and horribly scored… i was anticipating this movie for the longest time… i happen to love various renditions of the song "hallelujah" but that scene ruined the song for me forever… i have loved patrick wilson for his work and what he brings to each role he essays ( hard candy angels in america little children etc) but this was just uggghhhhly… JDM was good but his presence on screen was too short lived to really tell… i wont be anticipating sucker punch lest Snyder disappoints again ( but with hudgens added to that project there is probably no saving that movie anyhow)

just watched it on blu what really adds to it is zack snyders video commentary thing which i really hope more directors use , id love to see it when avatar is eventually released on dvd.

I liked this film. Actually, I think I loved it, but I'll wait for the DVD to see if the movie holds on a second view.

I thought it was flawed, but it kept what was most important from the graphic novel. The themes, the very controversial themes, are all in there (or at least most of them). And that says something about this adaptation. And Zack Snyder as a director. I never liked him (thought Dawn of the Dead was average and 300 a 'watch once, never need to watch again' kind of experience) and I still wouldn't lable him as VISIONARY or anything.
But it takes guts to adapt Watchmen and not turn it into… Something that it's not.

This may be the case of an adaptation that's just WAY too faithful. But it worked for me.
I think the graphic novel is one of the strongest reads I've ever had and the movie seemed to be as powerful as it was (I don't know if it ACTUALLY was because I couldn't just forget what I read from the novel and learn that story all over again… =P )

Loved this flick! Despite its flaws its the best and most interesting film experience I had this year. Can't wait to delve in the Blu-ray this week.

i always thought the acting was the real trouble of this movie exception for the Comédian ,Rorschach and the sad dr Manhattan but that works for me(i don't know this comic)

Brad, even though I liked the film, I still understand your review. I definitely know the film has flaws, I guess the visuals and the IMAX experience made up for most of the flaws for me. I'm glad to see you enjoyed the performances of Haley and Morgan, I thought those were both great. As for the other performances, I agree that there isn't much there with Akerman.

I do like how you respect Snyder's effort because I believe this is a movie that has been deemed unfilmable for 20 years, so it obviously takes some guts and dedication to bring it to the big screen.

Relax everyone I agree with brad this movie Just didn't work!! It's not for everyone just because he didn't like it doesn't mean he has bad taste! I felt that the film was too slow at times and tried to be too artsy and the acting by most wasn't very good. There was a reason Alan Moore didn't want his name on this movie

I disagree as well. I think the movie had everything that was necessary.
IMO this movie is a piece of art!
It seems to me that Brad has no taste concerning movies…
I think Zack Snyder is one of the most promising directors at the time…can´t wait for his following movies!

I actualy disagree. While I never read the comic novel and didn't like the trailers I actually thought the film was quite good. Much to my surprise, actually very good.
Patrick Wilson was a big reason this worked for me as I thought he was totally likeable as Night Owl 2. I was very skeptical going in but Im now a fan of Snyders film.
