Forgot to point out, Matrix 2 had a budget of $150 million US, ROTK was $94 Million.

When I first saw Bourne my jaw was on the ground, I knew I was witnessing something new. There is no doubt in my mind this inspired the new Bonds. Removing the SFX was the key, real stunts, obvious in Bourne and the new Bonds, stuntmen actually getting hurt. "A" list stars being asked to jump from building to building, leaping off cranes, driving/spinning/crashing cars. This brings a new level of realism/action to our screens that has been sorely missing. I had the same feeling watching Matrix, then that was killed by the two poorly rendered, Playstation CGI sequels, Borune however never lost its edge. They didn't allow themselves to get lazy and safe and fall back to expensive, un-relaistic CGI. A good CGI element is one you don't even know is there. It should not detract from the experience, in the back of your mind you shouldn't be thinking, "ahh CGI", that to me is a sin of modern film making. That's where Episode 1 & 2 failed, Matrix 2 & 3, Superman Returns, and many many more. Looking back at the LOTR trilogy, Peter Jackson knew of this danger, that's why so much of what you see on screen was actually built, yes every frame was rendered in some manner, but how many times did the CGI detract from the movies rather than add to the story? I can only think of a handful, considering the Extended trilogy was 11 hours long that's an amazing feat! Re-watch the battle in ROTK, then look at Matrix 2. Look at Hellboy 2, all SFX, yet flawless and attention to detail, not once watching that did I say to my self, "oh, bad SFX", Transformers, very tight integration in to live action. I'm glad a corner has been turned in movie making. Very cool indeed.

An amazing trilogy in my opinion. The movies aren't so "damn repetitive," and the shaking camera action was handled beautiful by the director and the cinematographer Oliver Wood. If you want to see "annoying as hell" shaking camera, go see Quantum of Solace or Cloverfield. If you want to see good shaky cam, see Bourne or Moulin Rouge!
