@<a href="#comment-26031" rel="nofollow">Adriano</a>:
It's funny you should say you find "Requiem" so rewatchable, Adriano, because that's how I feel about some of the movies the other commenters named as great but hard to rewatch... namely, "A Clockwork Orange." I've seen that film 11 times now. Also, "Irreversible" and "Salo," which I've seen 3 times each, and would see again, though most people can hardly manage 1 viewing. I know what it's like to be compelled to watch really disturbing movies again and again.

Oh, and I would watch "Requiem" again. I just don't know if I'd buy it.

lux aeterna FTW, one of the most compelling and intense scores in movies, i heard it was to be the OST for LOTR the two towers, but didnt workout, shame, it would have been sweet. that said im going to go with brad on this, one of the most touching and sad stories ive ever seen, but def not rewatchable imo. i did not feel sad for any of those characters, i pitied them, thats all, i dont encourage drug use, let alone addiction, so what happened to them was their own doing, hence it didnt appeal to me on a personal level.

@<a href="#comment-26031" rel="nofollow">Adriano</a>:
Here I thought I was one of the only people who felt that way. There's no denying that this film is not a happy one, nor will it leave you with high hopes at the end. But there's just something about it that draws me in, that completely ensnares me.
I find myself rewatching it once or twice a year. I can't really explain why, I just love everything about it. The cinematography, the direction, the score...everything about it was so well done.

Requiem for a Dream is one of the most re-watchable movies I've seen. Call me crazy, but every five or six months I'm compelled to watch it again. It kills me everytime, I end up a mess of tears and all, but everything is just so brilliant - the direction, the performances, the amazing score, the special effects, the dialogue - that I just NEED to see it again. Maybe it's my own addiction.
One of the best films ever made.

Your points are solid here. This is a tough decision for me regarding these dark films such as Requiem, Seven, and A Clockwork Orange. These movies are often times some of my favorites, but they are difficult to put in for multiple times. However, I'm sure I will end up buying Requiem on Blu-ray; I just love the film too much and think I would really enjoy that Aronofsky commentary.
